Julie was born and grew up in Taiwan with 6 sisters and 2 brothers as the 3rd oldest among my siblings. With Taiwan's intense competition for the best schools, she worked hard for the junior high, high school, and college entrance examinations and soon graduated from National Taiwan University. She would then go on to work for an elite government bank for almost 2 years before receiving a full scholarship from a university for graduate study in the United States.
It would be one of the most important decisions of her life. Over the years, Julie would have to learn the new culture, improve her English, develop confidence, and completely uproot herself and live in an unfamiliar place. Still, she ultimately decided to take the challenge.
“Always have the courage to try in your life.” Like I took my challenge 50 some years ago that I uprooted my self from Taiwan to US. Your are braver than you might believe and stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. You are capable of achieving anything you put your heart in.
What is love? Love is kind, is patient, is not self seeking. Jut like those people who help me when I first moved to US. They help me because they have love in their hearts. Remember in your daily life please use your watchful eyes and heart to help those who need love, kindness and help. With love we can make others’ and our life better. Always be aware that there may be people around you needs help and give them your helping hands without waiting for them to ask.
